About the company

Business Concept

EPU AG has been working for several years inventing, producing and marketing functional products with the Alligator brand name.
We sell the Alligator products through distributors in more than 30 countries. The products are based on our own patents, and on quality assured production and assembly.

Patented original that guarantees quality

Alligator is the original and we take pride in being the first and the best. Our worldwide distributors are given exclusive rights to sell Alligator products. The full range is currently protected by patents worldwide and the products are sold under protected trademarks in Sweden and the whole of Europe, South Africa, China, Hong Kong, the United States, Australia and Russia. Applications have been filed in many more countries. We provide a two-year guarantee for all our products.

An Alligator in every household

Our target group is primarily private households. Alligator products are marketed as vegetable choppers and are sold in about thirty countries around the world. Alligator is becoming a recognised concept for both satisfied private consumers and distributors. We are particularly active on the European market, with 550 million people in the EU states, corresponding to 150 million households. Exports to the United States and Russia are increasing and even Iceland is on the Alligator map. Our goal is for every household to own an Alligator.

Chopping onions – Where we got the idea

The Alligator was the idea of innovator Benny Engdahl, who got tired of chopping onions when he was making his favourite dish – Ă–land dumplings filled with pork – which requires large quantities of potatoes and onions. Everyone knows that chopping onions is a tearful affair, but it need not be any longer, with Alligator.
Benny Engdahl contacted his friend, graduate engineer Nikola Knezevic, who became responsible for the technical development of the product. Many prototypes were needed to find the right design, the right materials, and, in particular, the right steel for the cutters, before the final product was ready for commercial launch in 2002. The Swedish patent was granted in October 2001.
The product received a great deal of attention right from the start and rapidly became a success, with sharply rising sales and many satisfied customers.
